This last week has seen me in the workshop, at the moment my favourite part of being a creative. I love a hard days graft, with the reward of seeing new ideas coming to life, the feeling of exhaustion at the end of the day, and not to mention really deserving that hot shower. Bliss!

The fruits of my labour will be exhibited and launched at the DMY International Design Festival in Berlin. New concrete or (Beton) accessories are on the menu.

If all goes to plan there should be at least 5 new products ready for their premier.

Here are a few impressions of the Blickfang exhibition in Stuttgart, as well as us sprinkling our fairy dust on the stand.

This last picture is of the wall in the auditorium of one of the exhibition halls. I love the organic nature of the timber inlay cracking into the wall.

So, another night before the show starts is drawing upon me once again. Tomorrow morning I head to Stuttgart on a 6ish hour drive, followed by building a stand!!! eeck! for my first exhibition in Germany, which will be located in the Liederhalle in the center of Stuttgart. As I’ve already mentioned the show is called Blickfang, and it is an exhibition aimed at presenting jewellery, fashion and furniture so I’m looking forward to also being inspired by the other designers which I will be showing with.

I’ll be documenting the show with my usual snap happy camera to hand and will upload some images as soon as possible.

Last year the Klara couch also made an appearance in the December issue of Grand Designs. Klara was selected as one of the favourite pieces from the London Design Festival in an article entitled ‘Talent Spot’.

From the 12th – 14th March I will be exhibiting for the first time in Germany. Last month I received an invitation to take part in a special exhibition of Berlin designers at ‘Blickfang’ in Stuttgart. Myself and 2 other Berlin designers, Markus Becker and Matthias Kothe will be showcasing our products over a 30sq meter space at the fashion, jewellery and furniture fair.

Selected products from each designer will be exhibited to form an open living room style exhibition space. We will also be offering visitors an opportunity to purchase our products directly at the show.

In recent months I have been working on some new smaller products which will hopefully be finished in time for the exhibition. I might add a few sneak previews on the blog in the coming weeks.

This year the Press Lounge section will be getting it’s own ‘Press Archive’ section so that those who are interested can also see how my work/profile is being documented in the press. Below are a few features to get started with, including; ICON and onoffice magazine, The Observer on Sunday and Utopia Magazine, which featured a double page spread about me and my work, many thanks to Bev Howard for the lovely write-up.

New year, new beginnings…. and instead of sticking to any new years resolutions we’ve simply begin a new decade with a nice new studio. Now we’re situated on the West side of Berlin in Charlottenberg. Full address on the website.
